About

Sounder Law is a crack team of legal professionals drawing on decades of education, training, and experience in pursuit of the best available outcomes for our clients. We are committed to doing our best work for you. We are not just wizards of procedure, though. We are people who believe that empathy and compassion must guide efforts in the legal profession. Too often, the legal system is exploited to harass, intimidate, and denigrate people in tight spots. We are not that kind of firm. We are the kind of firm that appreciates the big picture, that understands a divorce might last a year or more, but decades of life will follow and that long view informs our approach now. We are a team, with you. Our parts of the team are:

Anthony Gibbs, Owner and Attorney

Anthony wasn't always a lawyer. He worked many hot, unpleasant, dangerous, and tiring jobs before entering law school in 2006. Since graduating from the University of Wyoming School of Law in 2009 he has worked in the Puget Sound providing legal services to clients from many walks of life. He believes it is better to have a good life than a good lawsuit and his advice tends to be pragmatic, focused, and thoughtful. His early practice focus emphasized business formation and transactions, estate planning, and traffic infraction defense. Family law has been his primary focus for the last five years and he finds tremendous gratification in helping people plan for a future they did not necessarily want, but which has become reality.

Chelsea English, Attorney

Chelsea English has lived in Seattle since 2016 when she began her legal studies at Seattle University. Prior to moving to Seattle, she studied at Cal Poly Pomona and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2016. Her early practice focused on family law, intellectual property and business formation and marketing strategy. Family law and estate planning have been her primary focus because she finds helping families and individuals through difficult times to be extremely rewarding. Her goal is to reach collaborative objectives without court involvement, when possible but is unafraid to advocate for her clients in the courtroom. When not in the office she enjoys trying new restaurants, spending time outside with her dog, Scout, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Jill, Paralegal

Jill is an experienced paralegal with extensive knowledge of family law matters.

Christel Verduzco, Paralegal

A transplant from San Diego, Christel moved to Seattle in 2006 to earn her bachelor's degree in English from the University of Washington, Associates in Arts Degree from Seattle Central, and then to go on to obtain her Paralegal certificate from the University of Washington School of Law Paralegal Program. Christel has worked in many areas of law and currently enjoys helping families find the best solutions to each individual solution. She is versed in both litigation and settling out of court and loves legal research. In addition to her career, she loves farming, homesteading, and raising chickens.
